Alfred Remote for iOS

Alfred has been my go-to launcher on the Mac since the day I found out about it. And when its team announced a companion iOS app, I could not wait for its release. That day finally arrived this week when Alfred Remote hit the AppStore.

From Alfred:

Alfred Remote is your personal command centre for Alfred 2 for Mac. Your iPhone or iPad now becomes a perfect day-long companion to your Mac; Whether at work or play, be more productive than ever!

Use handy icons on iOS to control many Alfred 2 actions on your Mac, replacing your hard-to-remember hotkeys and keywords. Launch apps, files and websites, control your music, keep useful text snippets at hand and boost your productivity by connecting Remote to your favourite Alfred 2 workflows.

As mentioned, this is perfect as a companion app to Alfred 2. I use my Logitech K480 to keep my iPad open with Alfred Remote, while also utilizing on my phone to make a couple of my Launch Center Pro -> Drafts actions obsolete.

To take things further, it'll be great when iOS opens up enough to replace spotlight search with some Alfred variation. That's years aways, no doubt, but it'll be great should we ever see it.

You need Alfred 2 on your Mac as well for this to be worth your time, so hit up both download links below, and enjoy Alfred's official video showcasing the app:
